Punched in the Gut

When I left the house to go on a family walk this evening, the Brewers were up by 3 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Clearly they were on their way to a very important win and maybe back into this playoff race. When I got in the car after our walk at the park, I heard the final score on the radio: Cubs win 7-6 in 12 innings. The blood instantly ran out of my head and I've felt sick to my stomach ever since. It's hard not to see this as a sign that things just aren't meant to be for the Crew this year.

Sports are crazy, though. And if the Cubs can score 4 runs in the ninth with two outs, the Brewers can reel off 9 wins in a row. I'll cling to that as long as I can.
